About Us
Hawkeye’s Nest is a family‑owned woodworking studio founded by Val Jason Kobrin, a craftsman who has spent more than two decades shaping wood into instruments and functional art. Working from a small workshop in our Tatamy, Pennsylvania home, Val creates each piece by hand, using traditional methods and the natural character of the materials themselves.
What began with Native American style flutes has grown into a wider collection of primitive‑style woodworking, including Hobbit drawers, shrink pots, rustic containers, and one‑of‑a‑kind wooden pieces inspired by nature and old‑world craftsmanship.
Every flute, vessel, or handcrafted item is made individually — no two are ever alike. When we’re not in the workshop, you can find us at festivals and events where we build, teach, and share our craft with the community.
